Autotrader is the UK’s number 1 market place for automotive vehicles. Leading Change was engaged to deliver strategic alignment of people & operations by Trader Media Group (TMG).
Accountability for delivery of strategic priorities was obvious when delivery sat predominantly in one function, but less obvious where they did not. There was limited alignment between strategic priorities and what people were actually doing.
Leading Change designed a process to create business-wide alignment around TMG’s strategic strategic priorities (known in the business as the five Ps) introducing a robust strategy to action process with the company’s top 80 managers and executive team. The process was deployed through functional and cross-functional groups by HR business partners trained and supported by us.
Sharper focus on strategic priorities, combined with a tailored leadership development programme, enabled the group to deliver outstanding results relative to their competitors throughout a global economic crisis and the challenging market conditions leading up to IPO. The mission-led approach readily integrated within the TMG operating model providing a platform for translating strategic goals into objectives, performance management and individual development plans.
